after making feathers in silk, which was soft and soft, i wondered if i could render something the exact opposite. something stone cold, like marble. as an illustrator i am trained to bring out the exact, realistic detail of an object. the renegade in me would have changed the colors to make it look like marble was made of lava, or gold. but this was new to me.

trying to achieve the veins and the effect of the stone in something that would not hold shape and sharp lines was challenging. and rewarding.
