the need to challenge textures brought this piece together. canvas was predictable, the silk behaved like i needed it to. forms came and went, but it was all controlled. marbling gave me the unpredictability of shape and form, and taught me how to lose control and surrender to chaos and bring it all back into the margins. and then my daughter tips it on the side, and blows my mind with her perspective.
